what to do in my free time to develop my portfolio (showreel).

I could film some more skateboarding in HD and edit it in a unique way. for example.

i know quite a lot of people in the filming industry, so mybe get in better contact with them and ask for advise or some work experience.

Annex Films is one of London's longest running commercial production
companies with 34 years in the business. Since 1984 the company's Executive
Producer, Fred Robinson, has led Annex through a diverse range of award
winning campaigns, receiving accolades including Cannes Gold Lions, D&AD
Pencils, British Television Award Golds, CLIOS and Irish Awards.

I think this company has style and would like to work for someone like this in the future.

the showreels have an overall feel to them, i like it. just a track played over footage from films and projects. no sound from the footage but still working with the edit.

Red Earth Studio post production

Red Earth seem to have a really professional style. i really like what they film and what there about. i like the website layout how it simple and clean. i will use this a template if you like for my website.

Bradford film festival.

nearly over but it would have been really good to have gone to the festival. could get tickets for it though. im going to get to more film events in the future to get my face out there and socializes with people in the industry.

Business Cards

I really like the card that this is printed on im going to print on to something similar to this.
i like the way the card id cut out but i dont know why this would be good for mine. i just like it.
I think these cards are good because of the bite in the corner. people would like to have these in the wallets etc.
i really like the simple design of these cards they look really professional.

Showreel Websites

I like the way this website is set out but i dont like the overall look of the website. i dont think it gives to that professional feel.
This show reel website is pretty simple and easy to follow but i dont like the design or colours at all.

Getting my Work out there.

I think vimeo is the best free site to upload my films. so i have done so. the problem with it is that you get a limited amount of video space each week and you only get one HD video a week. i have created a profile.

Spike Jonze

fat boys slim got spike to do this music video for them. it became one of the most watch and known videos of the time.



this is spike jonze first skateboarding intro. i think it is amazing the slowmotion capture a holy feel and also gets you exited about the skateboard film ahead. this will have been shot on 16 mil camera where you can get 200 fps thats why the slow motion is so smooth. it is call over cranking the camera to get this effect.







I love Spike Jonze work i think his style is extremely unique.
